About the opportunitySouthern Cross University’s Student Support team is seeking to appoint multiple advisors to provide support to first-year University students, with a focus on identifying and implementing strategies for students at risk. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Develop strong relationships with first-year students, monitoring their progress and providing guidance on topics such as courses, systems, policies and procedures.
- Identify at-risk students and develop and implement Student Success Action Plans.
- Using University systems to collect and interpret student data, contributing to reporting and service/process improvements.
- Collaborating with teams to enhance orientation and transition programs.
You will be passionate about supporting University students in achieving academic success, bringing strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide empathetic support. More specifically, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (Associate Diploma level) and two years of experience in student administration or support, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.
- Analytical skills and the ability to develop problem-solving strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing tasks with a logical and organised approach, and attention to detail.
- Digital literacy skills with Microsoft Applications, with knowledge of corporate systems such as Microsoft Teams, CRM, Microsoft Office, and Blackboard.

- Full-time continuing (permanent)
- Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480.
- HEW Level 4. The base salary ranges from $72,947 - $78,337 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $91,654.
