Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to undertake a world first clinical trial of a Stepped Care model to address climate-related PTSD.  The HEAling climate Related Trauma (HEART) Trial is a community based clinical trial.  You will be a key member of the research team, evaluating novel interventions for PTSD (arts-based and nature-based compassion groups, group-based MDMA-assisted therapy). You will be joining a committed and passionate team of academics and health practitioners to coordinate and implement research activities for the HEART Trial, under the supervision of the Lead Investigator. 

In this role you will:

• Implement, conduct, and analyse HEART research studies, ensuring rigorous scientific standards.
• Project manage the HEART clinical trial including timelines, resources, and team coordination to ensure project milestones are met.
• Supervise and mentor research assistants and others (e.g. students, volunteers) involved in the HEART trial
• Be driven to secure further research funding through grant applications and other funding opportunities.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including participants, clinicians, and the broader research community to facilitate the research program and to disseminate research outcomes.

You will have an exceptional background in relevant research areas, and demonstrated capacity to project manage a clinical trial. Additionally, you will have the ability to form collaborative partnerships with the trial Chief and Associate Investigators, while forging valuable connections with local service providers and the community. 

More specifically, you will have:

• A PhD in Psychology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience or related field
• Demonstrable experience in project management, managing complex research projects, including planning, execution, and financial reporting
• Expertise in mental health research, with a strong publication record in esteemed peer-reviewed journals
• Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis and research methodologies
• Experience in compassion-based approaches and / or psychedelic-assisted therapy is advantageous

• Fixed term (42 months)
• Located at Lismore, NSW 2480.
• Academic Level B. The base salary ranges from $110,611 - $130,814 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $153,052.
