  • Base salary will be in the range $78,944 - $87,750 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5)

  • Based at our Herston Campus

About This Opportunity 

We are seeking a motivated, energetic and organised Student and Academic Administration Officer in the Medical School to provide high quality customer service through the delivery of friendly, helpful, accurate, and informative advice and services to students, professional and academic staff. This position is responsible for completing a diverse range of administrative processing tasks and associated day-to-day problem resolution and maintenance of administrative systems.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide timely and accurate information to students, staff and other stakeholders within the University policies and procedures framework, guidelines, and relevant legislation.

  • Undertake academic administration tasks including updating electronic course profiles and Blackboard sites, timetabling, production of exam papers, grade uploads and amendments.

  • Assist with the implementation and review of strategies and work practices which will improve the workflow, efficiency and effectiveness of Student and Academic Administration

About the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences

The newly established Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences will be an interdisciplinary powerhouse of innovation and collaboration to lead integrated solutions to the needs of the communities we serve locally and globally. About You  

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to exercise initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • High level of organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service to diverse stakeholders.

  • An empathetic and professional approach to handling confidential or sensitive matters.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and knowledge of university systems (e.g. Blackboard, UniTask, SI-net and UQ Reportal) or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.

  • Adaptability and the willingness to embrace new technology and administrative processes.

  • Familiarity with University policy and procedures, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check.
