This position is offered on a Full time continuing basis and is based in Mackay. Classified as HEWL 5 the salary is $74,401 - $84,388+ 17% superannuation.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE

The Digital Services Technician provides first and second-level desktop, audiovisual (AV), and digital services support to the University, assisting with specialised videoconferencing, AV systems, desktop hardware, software troubleshooting, and associated technology across various digital and physical workspaces. The role ensures that customer needs are addressed and that high-quality performance outcomes are consistently delivered. This includes maintaining the operational functionality, security, and reliability of AV technology, desktop systems, and peripheral devices at JCU by diagnosing and resolving routine technical issues, performing software installations, and supporting operating system and hardware updates.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Degree qualifications or a combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Experience in resolving technical faults and providing customer support in a videoconferencing and audiovisual environment.
  • Informed analytical and problem-solving skills to judge shifting priorities and work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in a range of software packages and an ability to adapt to other desktop software quickly.
  • Experience in the use and support of Cisco Telepresence systems, AV Control, audio and display systems (desirable).
  • Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to maintain highly effective working relationships.
