Position Overview

In this teaching intensive role, you will serve as course coordinator for one or more courses, with a weighting (70/20/10) across teaching, research and service. You will:

  • Develop and deliver undergraduate courses (including online), ensuring teaching quality, innovation, and alignment with university policies.
  • Coordinate one or more courses, overseeing curriculum design and delivery, and ensuring alignment with the university's teaching and learning policies.
  • Engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research, aiming for national recognition.
  • Build industry connections to support research, knowledge exchange, work-integrated learning and graduate employment opportunities.
  • Co-supervise PHD students.

This continuing position is full time, primarily based at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land), with the opportunity to work at our other locations as required.

About you

You will have completed a PhD in Ancient History or Classical Studies. and have relevant skills and experience in teaching and research. In addition, our ideal candidate will have:

  • Discipline expertise: Specialisation in the histories of Egypt, Rome and Greece across thematic areas in line with the Ancient History minor within the Bachelor of Arts would be preferable.
  • Curriculum Design: Demonstrated recent ability to contribute at undergraduate, potentially honours and postgraduate levels, taking responsibility for the preparation and delivery of course modules and coordinating one or more courses, including collaboration in curriculum design and delivery where appropriate.

Remuneration and Benefits

The remuneration for this position is from $112,717 - $133,853 + 17% superannuation.
