Clinical Academic Appointment: A Clinical Academic appointment in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the CCLHD may be offered to the successful candidate

Location: Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute (CCCSRI), Gosford NSW

The position

As the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, you will combine your substantial academic and clinical expertise to be a course coordinator in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the Year 4 MD course at Central Coast Clinical School.

You will:

  • teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • participate in program leadership roles at disciplinary, school and college levels
  • undertake innovative programs in research and medical education
  • contribute to professional activities, policy development and community engagement activities

As a key member of an academic team, you will work collaboratively with the local health district to achieve growth and sustainability of research and medical education programs and to foster a strong partnership with Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).

The position will be based within the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute (CCCSRI) of the Joint Medical Program (JMP), located at Gosford Hospital.

The successful applicant will be offered a Clinical Academic appointment in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department with the CCLHD, as per NSW Health Policy Directive PD 2019_055.

About the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is located at Gosford Hospital and delivers services in Women’s Health at both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.

A busy maternity service with 3000 births annually, Gosford Hospital is a Level 5 unit with the tertiary unit at the Royal North Shore Hospital.

The department is a recognised training unit for RANZCOG and receives trainees from the network hospitals in NSW.

The department also provides comprehensive gynaecological services across the LHD.

How you will inspire us

You will:

  • Hold (or be eligible for) a Fellowship with the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG) or equivalent.
  • Hold current registration or be eligible to hold Specialist Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions, notations or conditions.
  • Have completed a doctoral (PhD) or masters qualification or significant substantial progress towards completion of or equivalent accreditation in relevant research fields.
  • Have a passion for excellence in teaching and assessment of communication skills.
  • Be passionate about mentoring and providing academic support to less experienced staff.
  • Have strong communication, management and organisational skills.
  • Possess the ability to skillfully work with medical practitioners across a broad range of disciplines.
