About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health and Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services are excited to offer a unique opportunity to shape the future of mental health nursing education. As a conjoint Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing/Nurse Educator, you will be pivotal in aligning relationships between academics and clinicians by building strong partnerships between our institutions; creating sustainable and synergistic collaborations. The role offers significant opportunity to drive research initiatives, enhance research and educational capacities, and to collaborate closely with Gold Coast Health's expanding mental health services.

This role will deliver student-centred teaching in Mental Health Nursing across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including managing and enhancing clinical placements for Nursing students at SCU, while also working with GCUH as part of a multidisciplinary Mental Health & Specialist Services (MHSS) Education Team to support the growth and development of the mental health workforce at contributing to building research capability across the mental health nursing workforce.

About you

We are seeking an experienced mental health educator looking to shape the future through innovative academic leadership and impactful research contributions. Bringing an ability to enhance relationships with healthcare partners to drive increased engagement in clinical nursing education, you will serve as a catalyst at the nexus of education and research. More specifically, you will have:

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) without conditions

Demonstrated commitment to the advancement of contemporary mental healthcare that leads to enhanced patient outcomes.

Experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of online curricula and resources in a student-centred model.

Excellence in the use of contemporary educational technologies and delivering healthcare material in blended and online environments, including digital interactive content delivery.

This is a full-time, continuing position based between our Gold Coast campus and the Gold Coast University Hospital. Relocation support is available.

The base salary for an Academic Level B ranges from $105,344 - $124,585 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $145,764.
