About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Political Science and International Studies as a Lecturer (Teaching Focused). We welcome applications from across the school’s sub-disciplines of strength. This is a research active role that has a predominant focus upon teaching and pedagogic leadership.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Teaching – We seek skilled and enthusiastic teachers with a commitment to inclusive classrooms and to outstanding pedagogic practices across curriculum and assessment design and the student experience. In this role you will develop, co-ordinate and deliver courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Research – We seek researchers with a focused research agenda and demonstrated capacity to produce high quality research outputs. We welcome applicants with a profile in the scholarship of teaching or pedagogical research.
Supervision and Research Development – We seek colleagues with a willingness to undertake high-quality Master and HDR supervision. In undertaking supervision, you will support the development of researchers by being responsive to the skills and networks that graduates seek to advance their careers.
Service and Citizenship – We seek colleagues with a demonstrated willingness to support the operational needs and vision of the school, and a commitment to the development of the broader discipline in Australia and beyond.

This a full-time (100%), continuing position. At Academic level B, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,201 - $128,201, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $126,595 - $149,996 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

About You
PhD in Political Science or International Relations.
Demonstrated record of high-quality teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels including the development, teaching and administration of undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses.
A focused research agenda with a demonstrated record, relative to opportunity, of publishing innovative research in high quality outlets. Research focused upon the scholarship of teaching or pedagogic research is welcomed.
A record of contributing successfully to applications for research funds in Category 1, 2 and 3 grant applications. Categories are defined here.
Evidence of the involvement in the supervision of Higher Degree Research students (where appropriate) in discipline research.
Commitment to undertaking internal service roles and participate in the governance, life and promotion of the school.
An active engagement with relevant external stakeholders such as professional organisations, industry, government and community groups.
A commitment to UQ Values in relation to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and UQ’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
