Working at CQUniversity

You will effectively support the Head Chef in delivering kitchen and catering services undertaken at CQUniversity’s Student Residences (Capricornia College), ensuring compliance with legislative and occupational health and safety requirements. 

Duties will include (but are not limited to) supporting the production and planning of menus, preparation of basic food ingredients, requisitioning, ordering and storage of kitchen/catering supplies and other general cleaning duties.

Position Requirements

• Completed a Certificate III in Cooking or completed Year 12 with 3 years relevant work experience or equivalent relevant experience or combination of relevant experience and education/training.
• Detailed and demonstrated knowledge of menu planning for a broad range of catering styles and types, including bulk cooking, ala carte and dietary requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, unsupervised and be able to deliver a high-level customer service for clients.
• Demonstrated safe work practices and taken reasonable care of own and others health and safety.

Desirable

• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
