About the Roles


We are seeking to fill multiple roles across the School of Computing and Information Systems in the following areas:

  • Programming Foundations
  • Computer Science and systems
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Cyber security
  • Information Systems
  • Software Engineering

As Associate Lecturer (Education Specialist Level A) within the School of Computing and Information Systems you will support the teaching of subject area/s within the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs. You will work closely with subject coordinator/s and under the direction of the Deputy Head of School (Academic). You will be a committed and engaging educator and have an appreciation of the School’s curricula.

You will assist in the provision of high-quality subject delivery, teaching, and student experience. You will prepare and conduct tutorials, consult with students, undertake assessments, and attend meetings as required, and may coordinate tutor teams in a subject. You will work on teaching innovation and support curriculum reviews. Working as part of a teaching team, you will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality, student-centred learning experiences, designed to deepen and extend student understanding of subject material.

As Lecturer (Education Specialist Level B) within the School Computing and Information Systems, you will undertake independent teaching within the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs. You will work closely with subject coordinator/s and be supervised by the Deputy Head of School (Academic), you will actively contribute to engaged teaching and the quality of the student experience, and student learning, while also undertaking related administration, including subject coordination, grading and processing of results. Your teaching responsibilities will be focused on design and delivery of lectures, tutorials, workshops in specific subjects related to your area of expertise, grading, and subject administration.

As an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer with an education focus, you will be recognised as an outstanding educator in your field, including a capability to make a strong contribution to the School’s reputation for effective and innovative educational practice. You will have deep disciplinary knowledge and have well-established academic skills and a demonstrated record of strong academic performance, especially in education and learning. You will undertake scholarly activities and coordinate and/or lead the activities of other staff.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
