Job Description:

Employment Type: Part Time, 14 hours per week

Duration: up until Dec 2025

Remuneration: Level B Academic $123 K -$140 K pro rata (based on experience) + 17% super + annual leave loading

Location: Randwick, NSW

Why this role matters:

The Post-Doctoral Fellow (Level B) will conduct independent and/or collaborative research in their designated field, focusing on advancing expertise through specialized activities. Reporting to Professor Michelle Farrar, they will contribute to research projects without direct supervisory responsibilities.

Skills Required:

  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary models of care for children and families with rare peripheral nerve disorders.
  • Expertise in allied health professions e.g. occupational therapy, physiotherapy
  • A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

  • Vaccinations - this position is based at the Randwick Clinical Campus which incorporates the four teaching hospitals at Randwick: Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women and Prince of Wales Private Hospital.
