About the opportunity

Join us in this newly created dynamic role where you will be responsible for actively engaging and growing university social sports and affiliated club memberships.

You will support the SHW Coordinator and Team SCU in national sporting representation, create social media content, and assist in designing and coordinating engaging on-campus and online events for SCU.

Every day brings new challenges and excitement in this interactive role, where you will play a pivotal part in students personal and professional growth and well-being. You will also have the opportunity to travel interstate for sporting events and internationally for recreational tours.

This position plays a vital role in energising our Southern Cross Campuses and online community, elevating the universitys reputation, and fostering student success and retention through engaging, enjoyable sports, and diverse events.

About you

Qualifications in sports, physical education, tourism, or event management are a must, along with experience in a similar role related to student/sports and event management.

You will possess strong organisational abilities, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing a diverse range of responsibilities within the student support and sports events environment.

Your recent experience in managing or coordinating events or sports teams enabled you to demonstrate your ability to work with diverse and large groups, including internal and external stakeholders, as well as engaging with the broader community. In addition, you have excellent social media proficiency and are adept at utilising various platforms for creating engaging content, including posts, reels, and interactive material.

Salary and benefits

  • Full-time, continuing (permanent)
  • Located at our seaside Gold Coast campus. Generous relocation support available.
  • HEW Level 4. The base salary ranges from $69,473 - $74,607 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $87,290.
