  • Senior Solutions Consultant within UNSW IT, daily rate contract role x 2 roles
  • Kensington based, Hybrid working environment

The Senior Solutions Consultant plays a critical role in aligning our technology services with the specific needs and goals of our UNSW clients. This position demands a high level of technical expertise combined with strong business acumen and excellent customer relationship skills.

The Senior Solutions Consultant will work closely with the Architecture community to shape and conceptually solution technology options to address business requirements effectively.

This involves thorough analysis of business needs, crafting tailored solution options, and providing technical guidance throughout the engagement.

The consultant will also provide ongoing advice to ensure that solutions deliver the expected results and continue to meet client needs over time.

Collaboration is key for the Senior Solutions Consultant, who will work alongside Architects, Cyber Security teams, product managers, support teams to relay customer feedback and contribute to the development of the strategy roadmap.

By acting as a trusted advisor to UNSW stakeholders, the Senior Solutions Consultant helps to strengthen technology’s engagement across the university. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a proactive approach to solving complex business challenges. This role reports into the Strategy & Architecture function at UNSW.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

Client Engagement and Relationship Management: • Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships. • Understand business needs and challenges to recommend appropriate solutions. • Serve as the primary point of contact for architecture to key stakeholders, ensuring regular communication and updates.

Strategic Consulting and Advisory: • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance and recommendations. • Identify opportunities for clients to leverage new technologies or solutions to achieve their business objectives. • Assist clients in shaping and developing long-term technology roadmaps.

Solution Design and Development: • Collaborate with clients to gather detailed requirements and define project scope.

Technical Expertise and Continuous Learning: • Maintain a deep understanding of UNSW’s Systems. • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. • Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge through training and certifications. Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Participate in strategic planning and contribute insights to enhance technology services. • Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions for Architectural teams.

Reporting and Documentation: • Prepare and present regular status reports, project updates, and performance metrics to clients and internal stakeholders. • Ensure compliance with UNSW’s policies and industry regulations in all activities.

Your skills and experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills.
  • Deep technical knowledge and proficiency in relevant technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong client service orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in solution consulting or a similar role.
  • Relevant certifications in project management or technical fields (e.g., PMP, ITIL, TOGAF).
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
