  • Employment Type: Full time (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: contract ending July 2025
  • Remuneration: Level 9 $138,171 - $146,613 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (flexible hybrid work)

The Workforce Analytics and Reporting Team Lead is responsible for the implementation and advancement of comprehensive HR reporting and analytics at the University.

The Workforce Analytics and Reporting Team Lead plays a crucial role in transforming and elevating the Workforce Analytics and Reporting function to deliver strategic solutions and solve complex business problems using innovative reporting and analytics. They cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders, gather detailed business requirements, and drive a collaborative environment to elevate team deliverables. The role supports the team's evolution to a strategic workforce analytics function, actively engaging with the business and enabling data-driven decisions and insights.

The Workforce Analytics and Reporting Team Lead reports to the Head of HR Strategic Data Initiatives and has multiple direct reports which may include Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Business Analysts as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing analytics team through coaching, mentoring and motivating team members, and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Implement and adapt the Workforce Analytics and Reporting strategy, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability.
  • Lead and enable the workforce analytics and report team to deliver effective and insightful workforce dashboards that provide accurate employee data that informs decision making and drives operational/organisational change and ad hoc customised reporting as needed.
  • Enable the delivery of accurate and reliable information by highlighting data quality issues and improving data integrity across HR Systems.
  • Foster a culture of data governance through the implementation and regulation of UNSW data policies, providing guidance and oversight for the management of report and data access.
  • Support the successful delivery of HR initiatives by providing subject matter expertise and collaborating with project teams to analyse challenges, identify solutions, and offer strategic insights to optimise project processes and outcomes.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (for example HR, IT, Finance, UPP, Student) to ensure delivery of relevant, holistic and cohesive data (workforce and other) to the University.
  • Facilitate the University meeting its statutory reporting obligations in a timely and accurate manner, including TCSI Staff Data submission, WGEA, ABS, and other regulatory reporting involving HR data.
  • Support the ongoing development of workforce planning at UNSW, including developing lead indicators that support the development of organisational strategy and operational objectives.

Skills and Experience:

  • A relevant degree and/or experience in workforce planning/analytics, resourcing, recruitment or HR experience within a corporate/professional services environment.
  • Proven experience in working with complex datasets and the development of intuitive and user-friendly dashboards using visualisation tools.
  • Well-developed skills and expertise in the end-to-end data processes applicable to large and complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of human resources practices, legislative and compliance regulations and workforce planning desirable.
  • Leadership experience with demonstrated capability to identify and establish priorities, and mentor, develop and motivate a team.
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex issues and solutions to senior management.
  • Proven capacity to contribute to and promote strategic initiatives, including the ability to plan, manage change, improve performance and project manage.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and proven capability to formulate insightful solutions.
  • High level organisational skills and attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong client orientation/customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing responsibilities and commitments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced user of Excel, and SQL, PeopleSoft Query, Data visualisation tool preferably Power BI.
