Employment type: Full time
Duration: Fixed term for a period of up to 2 years
Remuneration: Level B/C from $119,440 - $166,436 plus 17% Superannuation

Why Your Role Matters:
As the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer your primary focus is to increase the school’s capacity in areas related to leading in times and contexts of crisis. Applications are particularly welcome from people who can teach into areas related to leading in crisis including Cyber Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Response

Responsibilities:
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will continuously develop and demonstrate a teaching philosophy that inspires student learning for the Canberra School of Professional Studies in Crisis Leadership, while conducting classes, assessing student progress, and providing support in accordance with UNSW policy. Additionally, design learning activities, develop resources, and initiate experimental teaching approaches with the guidance of senior academics to enhance learning outcomes and employability for students, while managing course administration and maintaining professional development in pedagogy and disciplinary knowledge.

Although this is an Education Focused role there is an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake some research.

Who You Are:
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A PhD in a field that complements the breadth of expertise of the school and supports teaching into Crisis Leadership subjects
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales)
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience in a leadership role demonstrating crisis leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in cyber security or information technology.
  • Demonstrated interest in research with clear evidence of the desire and ability to achieve research excellence.
