An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced manager with expertise in digital workspaces to join our Digital Services Directorate. Digital Services works to deliver high quality tech support for learning, teaching, research, and corporate functions across the University. The Directorate fosters an innovative and agile team environment and is committed to staff development and keeping up with emerging trends in technology and user experience.
In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated field services and teaching technologies staff to deliver high-quality technical support and deployment of digital workspace technologies to meet the evolving needs of the University. You will undertake changes required to implement virtual labs at scale, computers and devices that support a more agile CQU, enabling us to be more efficient with space and address a significant deferred maintenance backlog in deployed technical assets.
You will bring to this role your high-level technical expertise, problem solving skills and excellent project management competencies alongside experience in digital workspace and best practice adoption strategies.

Position Requirements
- Qualifications and certifications in project management methodologies, ITIL and/or business analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts, advise clients on solutions, and handle sensitive client interactions.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a team, working both autonomously and collaboratively to achieve successful outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead decision-making, negotiate outcomes with stakeholders, deliver medium to large projects, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines under pressure.
