About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Office of Vice President (Students) and Registrar is seeking a Peer Program Officer to help facilitate student success through peer programs. The Peer Program Officer will train and manage high performing student peers, to act as study guides and role models for first year students.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and deliver peer support programs to create a supportive environment for new students.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage peer support leaders and volunteers, ensuring effective communication and session rosters.
  • Create resources and content for peer support programs, including communication messaging, guides, and social media.
  • Monitor program progress, contribute to evaluations, and suggest improvements, while overseeing peer support program interactions and supervisory administration tasks.
About you

You will be passionate about supporting student learning and have a keen interest in peer-to-peer student support. More specifically, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, at the degree level and two (2) years relevant experience in a supervisory role in higher education student administration and support or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant, knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • The ability to liaise and communicate effectively with stakeholders including academics.
  • Adept problem-solving skills to resolve client-related matters in a university setting, using judgement and critical thinking.
  • The ability to supervise students, establish priorities and manage competing deadlines for self and others.
Salary and benefits

  • Full-time, continuing (permanent)
  • Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Generous relocation support available.
  • HEW Level 5. The base salary ranges from $76,892 - $85,445 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $99,970.
