The Integrated Acute Services Building (IASB), located in the Prince of Wales Hospital at Randwick, forms part of the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct (RHIP), supporting health research, translation and education.

We seek two dynamic individuals to fill the roles of Technical Engineer and Senior Technical Engineer in our prototyping laboratory. You’ll work closely with the Tyree Institute of Health Engineering (Tyree IHealthE) to support delivery of health technology projects, engaging with clinicians, students, UNSW academics and potential industry partners.

Senior Technical Engineer (Health Technology) Level 8 ($123,044 - $138,636)

Technical Engineer (Health Technology) Level 7 ($110,073 – $119,132)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist engineering system support for the IASB prototyping facility.
  • Engage in the design and build of prototypes, working closely with researchers, clinicians, and students.
  • Manage and operate prototyping equipment, ensuring efficient laboratory operations.
  • Offer technical support and training to staff and students.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • For the senior role, contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of facilities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, and or equivalent experience.
  • Proven expertise in the design and development of health technology prototypes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • For the senior role, strong project management skills and experience working with senior stakeholders is required. Experience in 3D printing management is desirable.
