About the Role

The Business Improvement Lead oversees system development and management for the Infrastructure Services team within the Faculty, focusing on standard operating procedures, reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role plays a pivotal part in fostering collaboration across university services to ensure consistent practices, reporting directly to the HSW and Business Improvement Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide direction to and oversee the performance of the business improvement team to deliver services that support Infrastructure Services team.
  • Provide monitoring, reporting and advice to the FEIT executive on business improvement opportunities to drive effective and efficient operations and a continuous improvement ethos
  • Implement business rules for the charge out system for the use of the workshop, equipment and spaces, and technical and laboratory service staff.

Who We Are Looking For

You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage stakeholders, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement. Experience in team management, task allocation, and supporting personal development is crucial. Additionally, strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills are necessary to prioritise and develop innovative solutions across multiple concurrent projects.

You will also have:

  • A relevant degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or educational training.
  • Knowledge and experience of working within a certified quality management system (e.g. ISO 9001)
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking, ability to generate ideas to solve local problems and recommend improvements to current work practices.
