Job Description:

Employment Type: Part Time, 10 hours per week

Duration: Continuing

Remuneration: Level B Academic $123,620- $145,730 (based on experience) pro rata + 17% super + annual leave loading

Location: Sutherland, NSW

Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialisation will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.

This position will participate in the delivery and organisation of undergraduate medical student teaching, focused on Phase 2 and 3 Sutherland Clinical Teaching Unit at Sutherland Hospital, to enhance clinical placement capacity for domestic students.

Skills Required:

  • An MD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Medical qualification registrable in New South Wales and specialist training in respiratory medicine or medical oncology would be highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or capacity to teach in a tertiary environment or hospital setting.
  • Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and principles outlined in NSW Health's Patient Safety and Clinical Quality Program.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate level.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable).
  • Evidence of highly developed communication and presentation skill.
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
