La Trobe University is searching for a dynamic and visionary leader to join our esteemed La Trobe Rural Health School as an Associate Professor in Rural Nursing. This is a unique opportunity to lead and inspire in the largest rural health school in Australia, renowned for its innovative health courses and commitment to rural communities.

Your Role:

As an Associate Professor in Rural Nursing, you will:

  • Inspire and Educate: Develop, coordinate, and teach engaging and high-quality courses that ignite a passion for learning in our students.
  • Lead and Innovate: Spearhead the development and review of curricula, driving innovation in nursing education and research.
  • Conduct Groundbreaking Research: Lead high-impact research projects, publish in prestigious journals, and present your findings at international conferences.
  • Mentor Future Leaders: Supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) and postgraduate projects, nurturing the next generation of nursing leaders.
  • Forge Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international partners, translating research into real-world impact.
  • Champion Excellence: Provide mentorship and leadership to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Academic Excellence: PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognized by the University/profession.
  • Leadership in Education: Proven leadership in curriculum development and a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Research Prowess: A distinguished record of nationally/internationally recognized independent research with significant impact.
  • Mentorship Skills: Proven ability to attract and supervise honours/research students.
  • Funding Success: A successful record of securing external research funding.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrated ability to work productively with a diverse range of staff and students.
  • Professional Accreditation: Registered Nurse with NMBA/AHPRA.
