About the opportunity

Southern Cross University is seeking a dedicated Facilities Supervisor to join our Property Services team at our leafy Lismore campus. As the Facilities Supervisor, be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities to ensure the integrity and functionality of campus infrastructure and facilities. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and supervise asset maintenance activities to meet Australian legislative and university operational requirements.
  • Directly supervise Facilities Officer’s activities, ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and university policies
  • Foster a high-performance culture within Property Services by scheduling staffing requirements, providing training, and monitoring team performance.
  • Prioritise and respond to Property Services requests, assigning and monitoring work orders to ensure timely completion.
About you

You will have demonstrated experience in facilities management and supervision, together with a strong working knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and an adept proficiency in navigating computer systems. More specifically, you will have:

  • A relevant trade licence, with at least three years relevant experience supervising staff in a maintenance environment.
  • Experience using computer-based record systems, including Microsoft Office. Experience in T1 and Archibus is advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of WHS principles, legislation, standards, policies and procedures in a building services environment.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills and possess a solutions-based approach to changes in environment or circumstances.
Salary and benefits

  • Full-time, continuing (permanent)
  • Located at Lismore. Generous relocation support available.
  • HEW Level 6. The base salary ranges from $88,301 - $96,849 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $113,313.
