  • Employment Type: Full-time (35 hour week)
  • Duration: 12 month fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: $82,818 - $93,711 + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Randwick, NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working)
  • Full Australian working rights required for the duration of the contract

Why Your Role Matters:

As an Administrator (Research), you will provide effective day-to-day research administration support within the Surgical and Orthopaedic Research Laboratory (SORL). You will be required to provide effective management of post-award grant activities and reporting requirements.

The role reports to the Professor of Surgery and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Act as a liaison point for researchers from within SORL. In partnership with relevant University stakeholders, assist researchers to efficiently manage active research projects.
  • Ensure that centralised University resources are activated to facilitate compliance with grant terms, mitigate risk, promptly resolve issues, and otherwise facilitate the smooth conduct of funded research.
  • Contribute to developing a supportive, collaborative culture among researchers.
  • Provide effective specialist advice relating to research administrative guidelines, processes and activities.
  • Undertake induction and new starter process for new staff and visitors including access to systems and building and site orientation.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
  • Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
  • Advanced numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and supervise staff.
