About the opportunity

Southern Cross University (SCU) seeks an innovative leader to enhance our global initiatives. Reporting to the newly appointed Vice President (Future Students and Outreach), the Executive Director, Global is responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies to boost international student enrolment and broaden our global presence.

In this position, you will cultivate comprehensive global engagement plans, forge partnerships within the University and with key collaborators, and establish new study abroad programs that align with our curriculum and academic standards.

Your exceptional leadership qualities, strategic planning expertise, and knowledge of international education will allow you to focus on promoting global opportunities for students, particularly those from marginalised backgrounds. Additionally, you will represent SCU in various local, national, and international settings and ensure compliance with regulations impacting international students.

This role presents a remarkable opportunity for individuals seeking advancement in Higher Education. It involves both domestic and international travel, providing a significant platform to shape international education on a global scale.

About you

The ideal candidate will demonstrate significant knowledge and experience of international student recruitment, mobility and support and relevant policies and legislation.

With a strategic mindset and entrepreneurial flair, you will understand business drivers and will be able to lead an innovative new international recruitment strategy to positively impact commercial returns.

Strong cultural awareness, with superb interpersonal and communication skills will be important in representing the University on a global stage, with strengths in influencing, advocating, and developing and fostering productive relationships.

High level analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential, as will an ability to successfully implement evidence-based change initiatives.

This is a full-time, continuing position based at our Lismore or Gold Coast campus. Generous relocation assistance is available.
