About the Role
As a member of the Major Initiatives & Government Relations team, you will assist in research, preparation of written materials, and multimedia presentations, collaborating with MDHS and Chancellery teams. Responsibilities include producing newsletters, managing projects, providing surge support, maintaining databases, organising meetings and events, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role plays a vital part in supporting the team's objectives and achieving critical deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake research by gathering information, reviewing documentation and analysing data to assist in the preparation of written material
  • Preparation of PowerPoint and other multimedia presentations to provide key stakeholders regular updates on pertinent policy developments.
  • Assist in the project management of Faculty-based major initiatives as required.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate possesses strong written and oral communication skills, adept at drafting various documents and effectively negotiating with stakeholders. They demonstrate analytical thinking, organisational prowess, and project management abilities, both independently and collaboratively. An interest in policy and strategy issues within health and education sectors is essential.

You will also have:

  • Completion of a relevant degree with subsequent relevant work experience in or with government.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience in drafting documents, position papers, reports, briefings and correspondence.
  • Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Work experience in strategy and policy development in a relevant large tertiary institution or government sector would be highly desirable.
