The School of Education and the Arts offers a wide selection of courses in the areas of education, digital media, professional communication, creative and performing arts, humanities, hospitality, early childhood, education support and visual arts. Study options range from short courses to certificate and diploma level courses along with a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research higher degrees.

 

As the School Manager, you will provide high level executive support to the Dean, School of Education and the Arts, and lead and contribute to strategic projects within the School. You will draw on your leadership experience to manage the School’s administration team and utilise your exceptional communication skills to build strong relationships with staff, students, industry partners and other external stakeholders.

 

You will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic planning including making recommendations for strategies, plans and performance reporting. With experience analysing data, you will draft and interpret reports, briefings, and correspondence, and be responsible for the preparation of budgets and forecasting.

Position Requirements

 

  • Skills and experience in an executive officer role, preferably in the tertiary education sector, with experience in providing strategic advice to senior management in a large organisation.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to consult, liaise and negotiate professionally with  people across all levels from diverse cultures, and to represent a senior executive across a diverse range of stakeholder dealings.
  • Proficient knowledge in the use of a full range of information and communication technology (computer) systems to support research, investigative writing and reporting-related activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of University policies and procedures.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded and extensive relevant experience, management experience, or a blend of relevant experience and education/training.
