About the Opportunity
The University of Melbourne is offering a postgraduate research scholarship for a PhD student in the Faculty of Science to undertake research in developing improved breast cancer diagnostic techniques using phase-contrast tomographic imaging with synchrotron radiation. This Scholarship is funded by a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Synergy Grant under the program called IMplementation of x-ray PhAse-Contrast Tomography (IMPACT). The candidate will undertake research in X-ray imaging physics, using theoretical and computer simulation approaches, as well as participating in experiments and applying the developed methods to processing and analysis of image data collected at the Australian Synchrotron and other imaging facilities. The candidate will be expected to work with medical specialists to ensure that the results of their research are relevant for medical practice.
