We are now looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Educational Designer to join our vibrant team of professionals in the Centre for Education and Enhancement at James Cook University (JCU).   • Full-time, continuing role
  • Can be based at either one of our beautiful tropical campuses in North Queensland; the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus or the Cairns Nguma-bada campus
  • Remuneration at either Academic Level A: $73,551 - $98,283 per annum or Academic Level B: $103,238 - $121,815 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation. Level of appointment and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience (3.25% increase in July 2024)
  • Relocation assistance may be negotiated for the preferred candidate.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE 

As an Educational Designer at JCU, you will:

  • Forge strong relationships with academic stakeholders to co-create inclusive, student-centred learning experiences across various courses and attendance modes.
  • Champion inclusive learning by employing the latest pedagogical and technical knowledge to design highly interactive and academically rigorous learning materials.
  • Play a pivotal role in advancing our curriculum model, offering expertise on technological advancements in education.
  • Lead professional development initiatives and create educational resources to seamlessly integrate technology into our teaching.
  • Elevate the student experience through data-driven approaches that continually enhance our digital learning methods.
  • Contribute to the scholarship of learning and teaching, shaping the future of education at our world-leading University.

Job Requirements:


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have:

  • Postgraduate degree qualifications (e.g., Masters and/or Doctorate) in a relevant field and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • ​Extensive experience with learning management systems and e-learning tools in higher education.
  • Proven success in designing curriculum for diverse learners with a focus on inclusive learning.
  • Advanced project management skills and a track record of curriculum reform and professional development facilitation.
  • Evidence of publications or peer-recognised contributions in higher education, especially in assessment and inclusive learning design.
  • Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills to foster strong working relationships.
  • A demonstrated ability to drive strategic business improvements and enhance stakeholder outcomes.
