Joining our Talent Community

Our Talent Community is available to register your interest for sessional teaching and research opportunities.

Teaching Associates (sessional academics) play a vital role in Southern Cross Universitys teaching and teaching support activities. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the education of undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. Responsibilities will include preparing and delivering tutorials, assessing assignments, conducting student consultations, and fostering a positive learning environment.

We are also seeking interest from Facilitators, to assist in activity-based seminars, tutorials, and workshops, and Academic Researchers to join our research projects and initiatives.

About you

We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who possess a postgraduate level qualification (Masters or PhD) in a relevant discipline, along with relevant professional and/or industry experience. In addition, candidates should have demonstrated teaching experience at a university level and proficiency in using eLearning software programs, such as Blackboard. Applicants who can showcase their ability to engage in research through publications will be viewed favourably.

Salary and benefits

Academic staff are remunerated according to the category of their duties, as detailed in SCU’s Enterprise Agreement. Rates of pay can be found here.
