Teaching Associates (sessional academics) play a vital role in Southern Cross Universitys teaching and teaching support activities. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the education of undergraduate and/or postgraduate students across our key programs. Responsibilities will include preparing and delivering tutorials, assessing assignments, conducting student consultations, and fostering a positive learning environment.
We are also seeking interest from Facilitators, to assist in activity-based seminars, tutorials, and workshops, and Academic Researchers to join our research projects and initiatives.

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking expressions of interest from Lecturers, Tutors, Facilitators and Researchers to join our Talent Community.
With campuses located in Lismore, Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast, as well as flexible online delivery options, the Faculty of Health provides an exciting and innovative learning environment working with individuals, families and communities in order to meet their health needs and requirements. The Faculty is distinctive for its multidisciplinary understanding of client care, commitment to the prevention of disease and promotion of healthy lifestyles and working with Indigenous colleagues to develop culturally appropriate models of care.

About youWe are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who possess a postgraduate level qualification (Masters or PhD) in a discipline related to any of our Health offerings, and/or relevant registration and professional/industry experience. In addition, candidates should have demonstrated teaching experience at a university level and proficiency in using eLearning software programs, such as Blackboard. Applicants who can showcase their ability to engage in research through publications will be viewed favourably.

Salary and benefitsAcademic staff are remunerated according to the category of their duties, as detailed in SCU’s Enterprise Agreement. Rates of pay can be found here.
