Talent Acquisition Advisor
- The University of Queensland
- Australia, QLD
- Jun 10, 2026
Job Description:
Permanent opportunity available based at our St Lucia campus
Base salary will be in the range $97K - $104K + 17% super (HEW Level 6)
About This Opportunity
UQ’s version of a Talent Acquisition Advisor will join our team of 25+ professionals working every day to help the University hire the greatest minds, be it a Professor, lawyer or a carpenter. We are the custodians of the recruitment policy, interpreting processes along with our Enterprise Agreement and relevant legislation to make sure everything is done quickly and efficiently. Ensuring our new hires can get along with starting their new career, here with us.
You’ll partner with hiring managers across the University to deliver smooth, organised recruitment – effortlessly coordinating interviews, schedules and logistics while providing confident, practical advice to leaders who don’t recruit every day. You’ll navigate our complex hiring environment with ease, ensuring compliance and consistency, while also knowing when to step back – understanding that our high-volume environment means we can’t fully embed in every individual process. However, you’ll set managers up for success by proactively shaping sourcing strategies and driving targeted attraction activities.
You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive team that values integrity, mutual respect, and inclusivity in our team and across the broader University. We work hard, lift each other up, and never miss the chance to share a laugh - even on our busiest days.
About You
We’re seeking an individual who can confidently manage end-to-end recruitment processes, build trust with hiring managers and strengthen relationships – while also being responsive and calm when urgent issues arise (as they do!). You’ll bring prior TA or broader HR experience, with the ability to work independently, use judgement, and know when to escalate or ask for help.
You’ll be someone who genuinely leans into training, isn’t afraid to ask questions up-front and prides themselves on having a high attention to detail to ensure hiring processes run smoothly. You’ll have experience interpreting policy and applying it with confidence – including knowing how to push back respectfully when needed – and you’ll be comfortable working in Workday or quickly navigating between multiple systems in a complex environment.
What can we offer?
17% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading, as well as regular pay increases in line with our Enterprise Agreement
Access to wellness programs
A large Talent Acquisition function, with guaranteed coverage when you’re taking a break and years of expertise to lean into while you learn (and beyond)
We work two days from home, able to suit you around any work or personal commitments
On-campus childcare, affordable parking, and access to UQ Sports facilities
Opportunities for career development and progression and exposure to UQ’s internal only job board.
