    About This Opportunity  

    As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst within Information Technology Services (ITS), you will support and strengthen UQ’s cyber security capabilities. Working within a collaborative and high-performing Cyber Security Operations Centre, you will help protect a diverse and complex digital ecosystem supporting world-class research, teaching, and enterprise systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and shared success.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting the detection, analysis, and response to cyber security incidents across the University environment

    • Providing expert advice and consultation on cyber security risks and controls to stakeholders across diverse business and technical teams

    • Designing and implementing operational security solutions, ensuring robust documentation and effective change coordination

    • Promoting cyber security awareness and best practice aligned with University policies and standards

    About You   

    You are an inquisitive and solutions-focused cyber security professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and values collaboration. You bring strong technical expertise alongside excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage confidently across a wide range of stakeholders.

    To be successful, you will demonstrate:

    • Qualifications in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience

    • Proven experience applying information security policies, standards, and frameworks in a workplace setting

    • Expertise in multiple domains such as endpoint, email, cloud, or network security, digital forensics, vulnerability management, or SIEM platforms

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage competing priorities

    • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical and user documentation

    • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

    • A commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and improving security outcomes

    • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
