About the position
The Dementia Training Australia (DTA) consortium is an Australian Government funded dementia education program aimed at increasing the capacity of the health and aged care workforce and healthcare students to care for people with dementia. The DTA consortium is led by the University of Wollongong and consists of La Trobe University, Dementia Australia, Queensland University of Technology, the University of Western Australia and University of Tasmania Wicking Dementia Centre.
DTA provides a range of training and education services and activities nationally through collaboration across consortium members. The La Trobe University DTA team is responsible for the delivery of DTA’s Dementia Knowledge to Action Program, General Practitioner (GP) education program, Pain Consultancy Service and Commissioned Training Programs.
This role is based within the DTA La Trobe University Hub and will be responsible for ongoing development of the Dementia Knowledge to Action (DK2A) Program, with a focus on rural and remote settings as well as other improvements or expansions to the program. Additionally, the role may involve contributing to other DTA programs and initiatives across the consortium to support DTA’s overall objectives.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Completion of a Bachelor or equivalent qualification in a health-related field
- Project management experience in coordinating and managing health sector related program and education programs.
- Proficiency in project management systems such as Monday.com
- Completion of a certificate IV in training and assessment (desirable but not essential)
- Contemporary knowledge of dementia and evidence-based care of people living with dementia in a rural and remote setting.
- Ability to liaise effectively with a range of collaborators nationally and/or internationally and with industry partners.
- High level organisational skills: the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, all with minimal or no supervision.
- Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.
