We are seeking expressions of interest for multiple Casual academics as clinical tutors for 2025 within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, UQ Medical School.
About this opportunity
Casual Academics at The University of Queensland Medical School play a significant part in the overall student experience. Casual Academics may be engaged to fulfil a wide range of duties, including (but not limited to) lecturing; tutoring; marking; demonstrating; clinical education; learning design; teaching support; student outreach and engagement; moderating/facilitating and/or student advising; across multiple academic disciplines. Below are some of the specific learning activities that clinical tutors will contribute to in 2025:
Year 1 History & Examination tutorials (H&E)
Year 1 Clinical Communication Skills tutorials (CCS)
Year 1 & 2 Procedural Skills Workshops (PSW)
Year 2 Clinical Scenario Based Learning tutorials (CSBL)
Year 2 Clinical and Procedural Learning (CaPL)

About you
Have a medical, midwifery or nursing degree. Registration with AHPRA and recent clinical experience is highly regarded
Are a passionate and reliable health professional willing to contribute to the education of the next generation of doctors.
Have the ability to work flexibly and adapt with positivity to changing modes of teaching and assessment and a fluid teaching environment.
Available to attend onboarding training during the week of 27th of January 2025.
Available to take regular classes from the 3rd of February 2025 to the 31st of October 2025. If unavailable for more than 2 weeks per semester, then please opt for the relief pool in the application form.
Experience in Medical Education, especially at UQ, is highly regarded.
What we can offer
These are casual academic positions commencing in late January 2025. These are casual appointments. As such, there is no firm advance commitment to ongoing or indefinite work. Casual Academics are remunerated according to the category of their duties, as detailed in UQ’s Enterprise Agreement, and reiterated in this job profile.
