A Paralegal provides sound paralegal and administrative support to members of the Legal & Compliance team.

This role will:

  • Undertake routine paralegal and administrative work, such as conducting legal research, data entry, reviewing, interpreting and summarising investigation reports and other documents, and drafting correspondence and relevant documentation.
  • Follow clear instructions from members of the UNSW Legal & Compliance team.
  • Ensure that matter documentation and records are of an appropriate quality and maintained in accordance with Legal & Compliance’s record keeping requirements. This includes the proper handling of confidential or sensitive information consistent with the obligations of the legal profession.

A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:

  • Close to completion of a law degree.
  • Sound working knowledge of legal principles, procedural reviews, and administrative practices.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, attention to details, and the proven ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient level of computer literacy, with sound working knowledge/skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to complete legal tasks independently and to raise questions or issues as necessary.

Duration: 6 month role, days flexible (Initially, over the holiday period (until end of Jan 2025) higher hours of approx. 28 hours/week due to higher administrative workload. Then, hours will drop back to 14 hours/week from Feb 2025. Please note that hours will fluctuate regularly.
