About This Opportunity 

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced, enthusiastic and career-focused Banquet Manager to join the professional team at Customs House, one of Brisbane’s premier restaurant and function venues.

As Banquet manager, you’ll be a key part of our operations, requiring top-notch organisational skills, a calm approach under pressure, and strong interpersonal abilities. Your commitment to excellence will drive our team to consistently deliver quality service and unforgettable dining experiences. We’re looking for a dedicated professional with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role in a five-star establishment, ready to take the next step in their career at Brisbane’s premier venue.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Supervise restaurant service and assist in banquets as needed.

  • Manage electronic restaurant diary and coordinate with Event Coordinators and Kitchen.

  • Oversee menu and wine list development, cost control, and POS updates.

  • Handle stock control, ordering, reconciliation, and end-of-shift security.

  • Engage with clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns.

About You  

  • Relevant degree/diploma or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

  • Five-star hotel/restaurant experience with current Queensland Liquor Approved Manager qualifications (RSA & RMLV).

  • Strong food and wine knowledge, POS programming skills, and proven experience in high-profile dining.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and negotiation skills with a solid understanding of WHS standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia check.
