Position overview

This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future of finance education and at the University of Newcastle. You will;

  • Provide educational leadership across the Course, Program, Discipline, School, and University levels, driving innovative program and course development.
  • Lead or significantly contribute to the implementation of the discipline’s research strategy, maintaining a strong national and international profile, and attracting external funding.
  • Mentor early career researchers and supervise higher degree research (RHD) students.
  • Maintain meaningful networks and industry partnerships that facilitate research and innovation, and work-integrated learning and graduate employment opportunities.
  • Lead or significantly contribute to governance, administration, professional service, and external engagement at the School, College, and University levels.

About you

With a PhD in Finance or a related area, you will be an established professional with substantial experience in teaching and research, including a strong record of published work and successful student supervision. In addition, our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Evidence of designing and developing new curricula in finance or with an emphasis on learning to prepare students as career ready graduates and authentic assessment.
  • Evidence of successful track record of grants received and applications developed in the area of finance.
  • Evidence of successful engagement with industry stakeholders to inform teaching and research.
  • Evidence of incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into teaching and research.

Remuneration and benefits

The remuneration for this position is from $166,260 - $183,163 + 17% super + leave loading.
