We now have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Educator, Psychology to join our team at the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health based anywhere in rural and remote Australia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Clinical Educator, Psychology, contributes to the Supervisor Training Program (STP) by playing a key role in developing the rural and remote workforce by enhancing supervision capacity within the psychology and allied health sectors in outback Australia. This position will also contribute to national and regional policy through research and professional leadership, while supporting the broader health services research and education initiatives of MCRRH.

The Supervisor Training Program (STP) for Psychology and Allied Health is an accredited training program approved by the Psychology Board of Australia. It is designed for both new and experienced supervisors and serves as an interprofessional program that also fulfills AHPRA's requirements for accrediting psychologists as supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will hold current general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with no conditions, and be a PsyBA-approved supervisor with at least five years of experience. They will have experience delivering training workshops, grading assessments, and managing remote workloads while meeting training deadlines. Proficiency in remote and online technology, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is essential. The candidate should also demonstrate a strong competency in cultural and social diversity.

ABOUT THE MURTUPUNI CENTRE FOR RURAL AND REMOTE HEALTH

The Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH) is a federally funded nationally networked University Department of Rural Health with additional funded vertical programs and key performance indicators set by the Department of Health specifically focused on health workforce. Located in Mount Isa with nodes in Cloncurry and Longreach, MCRRH serves the large geographic region of outback northern Queensland. As a small academic department with a broad range of responsibilities within the rural and remote health and education sector, our mission is to lead excellence in remote, rural and Indigenous health in outback Queensland.
