Pacific Island Languages Curriculum Developers

Expression of interest
UNSW Canberra has been engaged by a large Federal Government client to manage and deliver high quality and innovative language services to officers preparing for overseas postings and for the maintenance of language skills of officers in Australia.

We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates with experience in curriculum and materials development in the following Languages:

  • Bislama
  • Tok Pisin
  • Solomon Islands Pijin

About the Roles:
Role: Pacific Island Languages Curriculum Development
Salary: Casual Professional or fixed term employment + Superannuation
Employment type: Casual
Location: Online (Australian work rights required)

Please note: to be eligible for this position you are required to have a qualification in education, language teaching or linguistics.

Accountabilities:

  • Review and update of existing curriculum.
  • Design, create and develop lesson plans as well as learning and teaching materials (e.g. in-class and independent study materials).
  • Language training delivery and assessment as requested.
  • Other duties within the scope of the classification as requested.

About you:

To be the successful you will:

  • have qualifications and experience in teaching a foreign language
  • have proven ability and experience in curriculum development
  • have proven ability and experience in developing learning and teaching resources
  • demonstrate an understanding of teaching methods and techniques
  • be organised with time management capability and experience
  • have experience managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • be located anywhere in Australia and this project can be delivered entirely online, working from home.
