James Cook University (JCU) is creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally and globally.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead in Dietetics to join our team at the Central Queensland Centre for Rural and Remote Health. This position can be base in Emerald, Biloela or Cloncurry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a key member of our dynamic and innovative team, the Clinical Lead in Dietetics will oversee service-learning programs in partnership with local community-based organizations. Committed to excellence in remote, rural, and Indigenous health, you will provide clinical supervision to undergraduate students, engage with local stakeholders, and support inter-professional learning in a remote setting. Based in the Central Highlands of Queensland, you will travel to various communities and work in non-clinical environments, such as day-cares, schools, and aged care facilities, while communicating sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

With an adventurous spirit, innovative approach, and recognized registration in Dietetics, you bring experience in service-learning community rehabilitation and a strong passion for student support and teaching. Your ability to engage, influence, and collaborate across organizations, professions, and regions will enhance access to Allied Health services and advance the centre’s goal of improving health in rural and remote populations.

This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to transition from a traditional clinical role, work with Indigenous communities, experience rural Queensland, and receive full support for further academic pursuits such as a postgraduate degree, master's, or PhD.
