We now have an opportunity available for passionate and experienced Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer to join our team within the Murtupuni Centre for Rural & Remote Health.

  • Part-time 14.5 hours per week; fixed term to 31 December 2025
  • Based at the Murtupuni Centre for Rural & Remote Health – Mt Isa
  • Academic Level B $106,593 - $125,774 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE

The Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer supports other Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH) staff to meet the requirements of the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program (RHMT) funding grant through the provision of community engaged, values driven education activities including inter-professional learning and teaching.

As a MCRRH Clinical Lead, the Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer takes an innovative approach to student assisted remote service provision. MCRRH delivers periodic student assisted, inter-professional services for adults and children in Central West and Northwest Queensland, based in either Mount Isa, the Lower Gulf or Longreach. This aims to provide innovative and responsive clinical placements and health services in outback Queensland; vertically integrated inter-professional education to produce a skilled and work ready health workforce in remote and Aboriginal health contexts; and an evidence base for rural and remote health and education policy.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Recognised Pharmacy qualification relevant to the position and hold current APHRA registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in professional education including inter-professional education, remote supervision, pharmacy support in remote and rural Indigenous contexts.
  • Evidence of teaching ability, including a demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a North West Queensland health professional education and health services environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in project / program management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, with cultural diversity in a small geographically dispersed team.
  • Demonstrated interdisciplinary skills / inter-professional practice experience, which includes effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to undertake remote travel across Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health service footprint when required, including overnight stays and undertaking work outside normal hours.
  • Current C class drivers licence.
  • Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS/Disability Worker Screening Card.
  • Fully vaccinated as per health, aged care and education sector regulations.
