Why Your Role Matters
The Communications Officer will coordinate and implement the Strategic Alliances & Initiatives communication strategies to support the day-to-day deliverables of the alliances and programs within its portfolio. This includes developing media content in support of the Communication Strategy, creating communications plans and providing relevant input in the coordination of events and project delivery, managing website activity and content, and managing Client Relationship Management (CRM) records.
The Communications Officer reports to Manager, Strategic Alliances & Initiatives and has no direct reports
Responsibilities
- Execute the Alliances Communications Strategy, linking content and channels to deliver effective communications outcomes for various audiences in support of the Strategic Alliances & Initiatives KPIs and UNSW S25 Strategy.
- Develop and deliver content to partners, in consultation with key stakeholders, to support the strategy of the alliance.
Collaborate with alliance partner communications and media teams to develop and distribute content on the alliance and to amplify partner campaigns as appropriate. - Manage and initiate activities to ensure Alliances digital channels are maintained, and monitor digital channels and media for mentions of alliances, and programs within the alliances, and topics relevant to the alliances.
- Oversee and lead the execution of communications strategies through the distribution of content via a range of other means including speeches, events, and other activations.
- Manage relationships with, and outcomes from, external agencies in relation to communications and marketing to ensure the profile of UNSW Strategic Alliances & Initiatives is consistent with strategic direction and brand.
- Oversee the development of reports to ensure that positive sentiment and understanding of the contribution and value of the alliances is conveyed.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform effectiveness of communications strategies and initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications with a depth of relevant experience in communications or marketing, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, measuring and delivering communications strategies to achieve measurable outcomes that support organisational objectives.
- Proven ability and experience in campaign development and execution to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Proven ability to liaise effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, and exercise creativity and enthusiasm in the development of new initiatives. - Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Extensive knowledge of communication platforms including digital channels, social media, plugins and applications and how these can be leveraged to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Experience with CRMs, such as Salesforce, an advantage but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail.
