About This Opportunity 

We are searching for a Director, HR Business Partnering (known as Client Partnering) to join our HR Executive Leadership Team, based at our St Lucia campus. Supporting a workforce of 20,000 people, this role reports to the Chief HR Officer and will see you partnering with the University senior executive to support the translation of operational strategy and goals, into tangible people driven outcomes. You will ensure HR operations meet the needs of the University and provide strategic leadership and direction to a business partnering team of 50 to deliver on the objectives of the UQ People and Culture Strategy. Your team will deliver solutions across HR advisory, talent management, performance management, reward, recognition, culture, and organisational change. 

The University has embarked on a significant HR transformation, with the introduction of an enterprise wide HR Capital Management System (Workday), in late 2021. You will help support the University through continued transformation and embed strategic initiatives while also providing a stable foundation on which the business partnering team can deliver and enhance on existing service offerings.

About You  

You will be a commercially astute executive HR leader with experience delivering complex, enterprise wide people strategies and functional leadership. You will be an adept communicator and possess the ability to coach and advise executive stakeholders through an approach of influence. Through your experience, you will demonstrate an exceptional track record acting as a consultative and collaborative advisor, who develops strategic relationship with ease to facilitate the delivery of people initiatives at scale. Specialist knowledge and expertise in complex HR legislative and procedural environments, including the application of enterprise agreements is essential to your application.

While not essential, experience and/or understanding of the higher education sector will greatly benefit you transition into this critical role.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for up to 5 years.

A competitive salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate and will be commensurate with previous experience. Our salary package will be comprised of base salary, 17% superannuation and eligibility for participation in the UQ performance-based incentive scheme.
