ICT Services at UniSQ is focused on providing client-focused, sustainable, high-quality services and support to students and staff, no matter where they are located.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled person to join the Enterprise Applications team to provide application development expertise and support the Team Leader (Enterprise Applications) on emerging issues, critical support factors and training needs in respect of existing ICT applications.  The primary focus of expertise for this position (but not limited to) will be Microsoft technologies.

What you will do

Reporting to the Team Leader (Enterprise Applications), you will apply your expert ICT technical knowledge to ensure the effective development, integration, support, maintenance and enhancement of the University’s Enterprise ICT applications and projects. In particular, you will:
  • work with several technologies and packages to help with specific University requirements and interfaces to other systems;
  • assist in the planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of new applications, and changes to existing applications;
  • assist in assessment of the impact of new technologies and products on existing applications;
  • liaise with product suppliers for technical support of applications; and
  • facilitate and encourage use and continued quality growth of the application code repositories.

What will help you succeed?

Key to your success in this role will be your ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of internal and external clients. You will also demonstrate a high level ability to work effectively in a team environment and actively contribute to knowledge sharing. Additionally, you will have:
  • a degree with major studies in computing or a relevant discipline, with extensive experience in application development, implementation, integration and testing (or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training);
  • well-developed skills and experience in delivering analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and documentation in support and maintenance of computer systems, or as part of a software development project;
  • demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, determine the root cause of issues and design and implement effective solutions;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data and business analysis skills and the awareness of project management practices and methodologies;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, consult, negotiate and provide authoritative information and advice;
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment; and
  • High level analytical skills to generate viable options and develop solutions to diverse workplace issues.
  • an ability to mentor and provide guidance to other team members.
  • Experience in database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL), Object Oriented Programming and web application development.
  • Experience in developing applications using PeopleCode, SQR, XML, and COBOL.
  • Experience in developing web applications with at least one of the following: PHP, Python, JavaScript / Typescript / JQuery, React, Vue or Angular, Bootstrap.
  • Good knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Good understanding of designing and developing well-crafted software using agile and lean approaches
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM and waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with git version control.
Please note, appointment will be made to the title of Application Engineer.

Salary: Total remuneration range $106,966 to $118,279 pa (includes salary range of $90,381 to $99,940 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
