What you will do
You will have a strong personal and professional ethos of integrity and compassion and enjoy working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.  You will:
  • provide support to our First Nations students, delivering a positive educational experience through teaching, research and ongoing engagement activities with our external communities and partners;
  • teach into our undergraduate and postgraduate programs via blended delivery, incorporating contemporary approaches to pedagogy;
  • undertake research and consultancy relevant to nursing, health and the University’s strategic research plan.
The position can be based at either our Toowoomba campus or Ipswich campus.
One appointment will be made at either Level C or Level D, dependent on qualifications and experience.

This is an Identified position and is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. For this position, it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991(Qld).
About you
You will have an understanding of Australian Indigenous perspectives and significant experience working and communicating effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
You will also meet the following requirements:   
  • Registered Nurse with, or eligible for, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • extensive knowledge of, and experience in, First Nations health; 
  • demonstrated teaching excellence with capacity to teach successfully into the pre-registration nursing program via blended delivery;
  • demonstrated capability to conduct and disseminate research; and
  • capacity to lead community and professional development initiatives relevant to Nursing.

Term: Full-time continuing appointment (37.5 hours/wk)

Salary - Level C:  Total remuneration range $142,618 to $163,918 pa (includes salary range of $120,505 to $138,503 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)

Salary - Level D:  Total remuneration range $171,016 to $188,052 pa (includes salary range of $144,500 to $158,895 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
