The Faculty of Health is a vibrant and innovative Faculty including Psychology, Sport and Exercise Science, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Optometry and Vision Science, Counselling, Medical Imaging, Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy. It is also home to the Health Research Institute encompassing the Centre for Research and Action in Public Health and UC-RISE (the University of Canberra Research Institute for Sport and Exercise).

Operating under the broad direction of the Clinics Manager and the Lead Psychology Clinical Specialist, the Psychology Clinical Specialist will supervise the Master of Clinical Psychology Students undertaking their first and second placements at the UC Health clinic. They will work closely with the academic staff to ensure the learning objectives for the clinical placements are achieved. The ideal candidate will work in a team to grow and develop the clinic and to provide the client exposure necessary for internal placements.

Your excellent attention to detail, superior communication skills, resilience and ability to problem solve will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You will be enthusiastic and proactive with demonstrated experience in providing high level customer service to a diverse client base.

You will have an experienced approach with a flexible attitude. You will be confident, nurturing and supportive of a student’s learning journey and innately keen to help when and wherever you can. To succeed in this role, you will also have a strong

commitment to providing professional client service, a natural ability to work collaboratively within a team and with others and you will pride yourself on your efficiency and initiative.

A master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and endorsement as a clinical psychologist is essential. The suitable candidate must have Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor status or willingness to obtain this, prior to commencement.
