Job Description:

Macquarie University International College (MUIC) is seeking a highly proficient educator to coordinate our Independent Learning Centre Numeracy support for Foundation and Diploma Students.
• Salary Package: Pro rata from $97,783 to $106,018 p.a. (Level 7) plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading)
• Location: Macquarie University (North Ryde)
• Appointment Type: two-years fixed-term, part-time (0.5 full-time equivalent)

THE ROLE

The Numeracy Coordinator works collaboratively with an English language Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operation of our Independent Learning Centre (ILC), which is a hub of literacy and numeracy engagement, located within the Macquarie University International College (MUIC) on Macquarie University Campus. This modern facility can accommodate up to 90 students for individual study, computer use or group work, and provides a comprehensive range of hard copy and online resources.

In addition to collaboratively managing the ILC space, the Numeracy Coordinator designs learning materials, offers individual numeracy skills support and advice, and targeted online or face-to-face workshops for larger groups.

We are seeking a part-time Coordinator to work at a 0.5 full-time equivalent which can be distributed flexibly across a 3-to-5-day period.

About You

You are a trained teaching professional with qualifications in Mathematics. You have the expertise and enthusiasm to drive ILC operations, create learning materials and innovate in the digital space. You are an excellent communicator, you enjoy working with students, and you are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Macquarie University International College (MUIC) provides local and international students with an alternative pathway to the University’s undergraduate offerings. At MUIC, students can complete a Foundation or Intensive program to enter the first year of a Macquarie University undergraduate degree, or a Diploma program to then enter the second year of a Macquarie University undergraduate degree.

Part-time Numeracy or Literacy Coordinator

  • Degree in a relevant numeracy field, such as Mathematics, Statistics and Finance OR
  • Demonstrated teaching experience with domestic and international students
  • Demonstrated knowledge of self-access and independent learning
  • Demonstrated eLearning experience/qualifications desirable
  • Strong written, spoken, and interpersonal skills
