Exciting opportunity for an experienced Researcher to contribute to clinical research in neurosurgery.


  • Salary Package: Research Fellow (Level B) from $108,111 - $127,913 per annum, plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • Appointment type: Part-time (3-4days/wk) fixed term position for 2 years.

The neurosurgery unit within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Research Fellow to contribute to clinical research in the field of neurosurgery at Macquarie University. The successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to the development of neurosurgery scholarly publications and submissions. The Fellow will be responsible for assisting neurosurgeons to obtain ethics approvals, collect and analyse clinical data, and prepare manuscripts for publication. An important part of the role will be to work with the Macquarie neurosurgeons and collaborate with the members of the research team to ensure the highest standard of ongoing data collection and publication of surgical outcomes.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience in research publications and submissions. Experience with applications for research grants, collection and analysis of clinical data, preparation of manuscripts for publication and tables and figures for presentation will be an advantage

  • PhD in medical sciences or related field
  • Proven track record with peer-reviewed publications as first author
  • Excellent command of scientific writing in English


  • Experience in clinical research, preferably in the field of neurosurgery
  • Experience with clinical statistical analysis
