Raise awareness about the availability of Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) infrastructure and cloud computing services for researchers at JCU.

We offer an exciting opportunity for an eResearch Specialist ($83,247 - $92,085) to join our world-leading institution at James Cook University (JCU). This full time, fixed term appointmentto December 2021 is based at the JCU Nguma-bada campus in Cairns.
What you can accomplish in the Role
Joining a dynamic team of professionals, you will assist researchers in applying for storage and computer services from the QRIScloud service portal. Acting as a local “Account Manager” for Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) clients, you will also promote national computational facilities, including publicising, and helping researchers to apply for QCIF’s share of the NCI supercomputer.
What you will bring to the Role
With a degree qualification in Information Technology you will have proven ability, or the ability to acquire skills, in research data management, data access and movement technologies and techniques.  As a strong communicator, you will thrive in a role that requires effective engagement and liaison directly with stakeholders and users in the JCU research community to gather requirements in order to develop, maintain and deliver software systems and deliver effective outcomes.
