The Opportunity

The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW is looking for a motivated technical administrator to join the technical staff team and provide effective day-to-day administrative and facilities support to the Laboratory Manager.

The Technical Administrator will be responsible for acting as a point of contact for laboratory users, visitors and contractors and maintaining effective channels of communication throughout the School laboratories.

They will be responsible for coordinating service requests for laboratories through UNSW Estate Management (Archibus) and coordinating the School lab equipment booking system (ACLS).

They will assist the Laboratory Manager to coordinate and document the management of equipment and safety documentation in UNSW’s safety compliance software as well as assisting with Teaching Lab coordination and timetabling.

The Technical Administrator will work with the Laboratory Manager and School Administration Team to coordinate the purchase, receipt and distribution of laboratory-related deliveries to the School.

The Technical Administrator contributes to the maintenance of high standards of work practice and supports a culture of continuous improvement in the School’s laboratories.
